Improving women’s healthcare in Israel
As one of Israel’s leading breast cancer diagnostic centers, the Rachel Nash Jerusalem Comprehensive Breast Clinic, known as Hala, provides comprehensive screenings to over 18,000 women each year. To improve early detection, Walder Foundation funding supported the purchase of a digital tomosynthesis mammography machine to replace an outdated table biopsy system. The new technology allows doctors to examine breast tissue one layer at a time, cutting through the various layers of tissue that can hide a cancerous tumor.
